For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,
I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.
Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?
When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'

Matthew 25:35-40 (NIV)

It’s time!
It's time for Thrive to plant roots in our community. It's time for Thrive to have a home. I've been amazed at how faithful God has been to our Church over the years, and already, I'm just blown away at how God is moving! There is no way that this very ambitious and faith filled plan will work without God's hand, God's favor, and God's miracles!

The reality is, we are extremely close to having a 24/7 facility and home for our community! Just imagine!

Can you see the families driving in from Mission Street? Can you see the Thrive flags lining Mission Street on Sunday mornings? Can you see the Thrive sign being viewed by thousands of cars every day? Can you see the college kids walking across Mission to hang out in the commons? Can you see the kids running into our building to play on the play scape? Can you see Thrive hosting the business events for the Chamber of Commerce? Can you see all of the teenagers hanging out at One Youth? Can you hear the worship in Theater One? (Oh, yeah, we'll gonna call our auditorium Theater One!) Can you see all the people hanging out after Church? Can you see the piles of shoes we're going to give away for our next Shoe Project? Can you see the tutoring center? Can you see our baptisms in the new building?

Those thoughts excite me for the future of Thrive Church!
Thank you for praying and seeking God. This can’t happen without a tremendous amount of us all uniting together!
You are loved, and I can’t wait to see what God is doing through us all!

FAQ

  1. Why is Thrive trying to move?

Celebration Cinema has been a great home for Thrive Church, and we’re not being pushed out. However, we know that the dreams that God has given us are so much bigger than Sunday mornings. We dream of providing a space FOR the community to use. A space that could help host the homeless shelter and give them a place to shower and do laundry, a space to provide parents a place to let their kids play on a great playscape, meeting rooms and gathering space for friends and colleagues to meet, an auditorium to host local events, and so much more! Taking this step of faith will begin our journey toward that new home. It will allow us to build community, serve Central Michigan, and give us the feeling of being physically rooted in the community!

  2. Why is 1717 / 1719 S. Mission St a great location for Thrive?

This is an amazing location in Mt Pleasant! It’s in the middle of town with tons of traffic flow. It would allow us to be close to everything in town, including Central Michigan University. It would provide incredible visibility and keep us in front of the action. The building itself is a storefront with tons of potential - high ceilings, room for expansion, and plenty of parking.

  3. What could this space provide for Central Michigan and the Thrive community?

This space could provide us with a 300 seat auditorium that could also be used to host local events and concerts. A place where Jesus is preached and people are pointed toward finding and following Him. A place for youth and college students to gather, with after school opportunities. A place for the homeless in Central Michigan to rest, shower, and wash their clothes. A playscape for families. A broadcast studio for growing our online platform and training students. A place to serve the needs of Central Michigan.

  4. Why right now?

God is moving and opening up doors. There is incredible interest and momentum from our Thrive community, and our ever growing external network. God is at work, and we don’t want to miss our chance to be in the midst of a great move of God.
